Blasting Services choose Atlas Copco

Alfreton-based Blasting Services have been supplied with four of the latest Atlas Copco four-wheel portable compressors to power part of their drill rig fleet.

The XRHS396 Md compressors operate at 20 bar (290 lb/in2) and deliver compressed air at a rate of 391 litres/s (828cfm). Powered by 230kW Mercedes six-cylinder diesel engines, the new units are a major part of Blasting Services’ range of plant that includes four Atlas Copco self-contained rigs — three ROC L6H and one ROC L8. All the units are on full maintenance, service and repair contracts with Atlas Copco.

Commenting on the decision to work with Atlas Copco to supply and service the company’s drilling equipment, Ben Williams, general manager of Blasting Services, said: ‘It was an easy choice. They have excellent compressors and drill rigs and with their six specialist field service engineers available to us, they can back up the product where it counts.’
