Rammer 9033 in action

Leading manufacturer introduces upgraded and improved version of it largest hydraulic breaker

HYDRAULIC hammer and attachment brand Rammer have used this week’s Conexpo exhibition in Las Vegas as the international launch pad for the latest incarnation of their largest breaker.

Shown on the stand of US distributors Allied CP, the new Rammer 9033 model replaces the highly successful Rammer 7013 and benefits from a number of key changes and improvements, many of which have been proven in smaller Rammer hammers.

These improvements include: a 20% wider carrier weight range than the Rammer 7013; and a 22% higher input power, which significantly increases impact rate and productivity compared with its predecessor.

These improvements have been achieved by equipping the new Rammer 9033 with many of the key features recently applied to other models in the Rammer Large and Medium ranges.

‘Our engineers have applied lessons learned on other hammer models to place this Rammer hammer at the very top of its class,’ said Rammer general manager Rafa López.

‘The Rammer 9033 completes the successful Rammer Large hammers family by replacing the aged 7013 with a modern design that extends some of the specifications, such as carrier range allowed and tool diameter.’

Weighing 7,000kg, the Rammer 9033 is suitable for carriers with operating weights ranging from 60 to 120 tonnes.

Impact rate on the long-stroke setting rises from a maximum of 450 blows/min on the Rammer 7013 to 520 blows/min on the new 9033, while maximum oil flow rises from 400 to 460 litres/min and input power is up from 152hp to 185hp (113kW to 138kW) – a rise of 22%.

Stroke length and idle blow protection can be easily adjusted to allow the Rammer 9033 to be purpose-matched to individual applications.

The long-stroke setting uses a lower blow frequency for optimum breaking in hard materials, such as granite and reinforced concrete, while the short-stroke setting delivers higher blow frequency, which is better for softer materials such as limestone.

Like the other models in the Rammer Large range, the new 9033 utilizes high-tension VIDAT tie rods for improved reliability and lower operating costs. Moreover, simple, reliable rubber rings lock the tool-retaining pins, whilst the surface of the lower tool bushing has been specifically designed to provide longer tool life.

The Rammer 9033 is also the latest (and final) model in the Rammer Large range to benefit from the addition of the Ramvalve overflow protection system. If the oil flow exceeds the pre-defined setting, the valve adjusts the flow to a very low level and reduces the hammer’s impact rate. The Ramvalve resets once the hammer is restarted with the correct oil flow. The system provides protection against accidental overflows and overpressure, enhances the hammer’s reliability and offers improved protection against oil spills.

To further extend the working life of the Rammer 9033 it is offered with three greasing options: a centralized manual option; a carrier-mounted Ramlube I automatic greasing system; or a Ramlube II system that utilizes a cartridge mounted on the hammer to automatically deliver optimum levels of lubrication for greater wear protection and a longer service life.

The new model also comes equipped with Rammer’s Ramdata II service indicator that allows operators and service personnel to monitor and log vital service and maintenance information to further minimize downtime.

All the key features on the 9033 are fully backed-up by genuine wear-resistant Rammer parts that are readily available via the company’s global dealer network.
