Bespoke Terex Finlay 883 reclaimer for J O’Doherty
Finlay Plant South East supply customized reclaimer to North London-based recycling firm
FINLAY Plant South East have supplied a specially customized reclaimer to J O’Doherty Haulage – developed to save space within their North London-based recycling facility.
The Terex Finlay 883 Reclaimer has been configured to include two belts on one side, to maximize the space available at the recycling company’s Edmonton headquarters.
The machine is the second 883 Reclaimer supplied by Finlay Plant South East – part of the Finlay Group of companies – to J O’Doherty Haulage for use in the production of recycled aggregates.
Work on site is supported by two Terex Finlay 694 mobile inclined screens – used to produce single-sized aggregates – which were also supplied by Finlay Plant South East.
James O’Doherty, owner of J O’Doherty Haulage, said: ‘We work in a fairly restricted zone and the general configuration of the 883 is the fines belt out one side and the middle product out the other.
‘We part-exchanged our previous 883 for this one and specified a design that would put both the fines belt and the middle product on one side, so it can be set up in a confined area.’
Having bought their previous 883 machine in 2003, J O,Doherty say they chose to purchase the new bespoke machine because of the 883’s reliability and the service and back-up support they receive from Finlay Plant South East.
The range of the Terex Finlay 883 allows the company to produce three sizes of product including recycled aggregate for sub-base.
Leon Sheehy, managing director of Finlay Plant South East, said: ‘The 883 reclaimer gives J O’Doherty the flexibility and performance to produce a high level of product.
‘The machinery also takes account of the different types of material being fed through. The belts can run at different speeds depending on how dry the material is at the in-feed point.’
