Battery boosters from GYS
Professional battery boosters feature integrated high-tech pure lead battery
GYS Ltd, the French welding equipment and battery charger manufacturers, have introduced two new 12V professional battery boosters - GYSPACK 610 and GYSPACK 810 - each with an integrated ‘Hawker’ high-technology pure lead battery.
The GYSPACK 810 has a peak output of 3,100A, a specification that is capable not only of starting a demanding vehicle application but will comfortably perform many repeat starts between recharging, 12 starts at 450A or as many as 60 starts at 250A. The smaller GYSPACK 610 has a peak output of 2,050A and is capable of making up to 32 starts at 250A.
Neil Pulsford, at GYS said: ‘Customer feedback in general on boosters in use in the market often reports frustration caused by short product life. There are two major influences on product life, first is the quality of the internal battery but what is less understood is that to maximize the life of that battery the specification of the internal charger is very important. To be sure of achieving a full 100% charge of the internal charger GYS employs an advanced multi-stage (WUoU) micro-processor controlled charger (similar to our Batium range) which is both safe to leave charging permanently and will ensure the battery is maintained to the highest level thus maximizing product life. We believe it makes economic sense for professional users to invest in a quality booster such as the GYSPack 610 and 810.’
Both boosters are designed to be left connected permanently to the mains supply when not in use and feature protection against polarity reversals and have long cables and robust connectors
