Banner Contracts choose Terex Finlay machine
Contractor strengthens machinery fleet with new addition of the C1540 cone crusher
BANNER Contracts of Darlington have added a new C1540 cone crusher to their growing fleet of Terex Finlay machines. Supplied by Finlay Plant Northern, the crusher – which processes up to 150 tonnes/h – features a built-in single-deck pre-screen that removes fines before they reach the cone. This gives Banner the versatility to remove any undersize product beforehand in order to increase productivity.
The Terex Finlay C1540 is currently working on the company’s limestone operations, crushing 200mm stone down to –50mm. Most of the material is then sent to an on-site kiln. The cone crusher is also processing Whinstone into asphalt products. According to Terex Finlay, aggregates chosen for this operation must be processed into a clean product of a precise size and shape, and the C1540 is capable of delivering the cubical shape required.
Banner Contracts were established in 1992 by Mike Banner but are now run by his two sons, Joe and Andrew. The business delivers contract crushing, screening and washing of aggregates, as well as earthmoving and plant hire services throughout England, Wales and Scotland.
Joe Banner, director of Banner Contracts, said: ‘We have a strong relationship with Finlay Northern, which has developed over a number of years. It started with my father and has continued to progress with my brother and myself. We are really happy with the cone crusher’s productivity and its adaptability means we can use it on different jobs as and when we require.’
