Award-winning electronics system

FAW Electronics Ltd have introduced t-mac — a new virtual, asset-monitoring device — to the quarrying industry.

T-mac is a telecommunication monitor and control product and, according to FAW, is the first of its kind to be designed and manufactured in the UK. FAW have already won an innovation award from the Department of Trade and Industry for the device.

The system allows companies to link all machinery located at various sites to one central point accessed from any PC via the Internet. With allocated control privileges and pre-defined access levels, t-mac allows single or multiple users to log-on and carry out checks on the status of machinery and set or change a wide range of monitoring and control parameters specific to the machinery. Automatic alerts allow service personnel to be informed via a previously requested communication channel, ie email, SMS or telephone/ mobile phone, as soon as a fault occurs, allowing a prompt response.
