Atlas Copco to acquire CRM
Atlas Copco South Africa Pty Ltd are to acquire certain assets of Consolidated Rock Machinery (Pty) Ltd (CRM), distributors of surface drill rigs, portable compressors and compact equipment, as well as rig-mounted and hand-held construction and demolition equipment, for an undisclosed sum.
Established in 1987 and based in Johannesburg, CRM have annual revenues of approximately Euro 17 million (£12 million) and employ 65 staff. The company’s compact equipment division is not included in the acquisition, which is still subject to approval from the local authorities.
Atlas Copco say the acquisition will fit well with their strategy to broaden sales reach and to further improve their aftermarket business. CRM have a strong presence in the market and good geographical coverage with six sales and service operations in South Africa.
