Aggregate Industries named as one of Britain’s healthiest workplaces
Company recognized as one of the country’s healthiest places to work in annual nationwide survey
AGGREGATE Industries have been named as one of Britain’s Healthiest Workplaces in The Financial Times’ latest annual nationwide survey.
The Britain’s Healthiest Workplace Survey, now in its fifth year, recognizes and ranks organizations with the healthiest workforces, based on nine different risk factors, including smoking habits, nutrition and physical activity. Organizations are also scored on their workplace wellness interventions, facilities and services.
Within the ‘large employer’ category, Aggregate Industries are ranked the ninth healthiest business to work for out of Britain’s top 60, and the 15th healthiest workplace.
According to the company, one of the reasons why it received this accolade is its ‘Healthy You’ employee initiative, which provides advice and guidance on how to deal with a variety of real health issues both in and out of the workplace.
Stephanie Kendrick, Healthy You lead at Aggregate Industries, commented: ‘The overall health and well-being of our employees is a key priority for us and, in conjunction with a continuing focus on excellence in safety practices, plays a significant contribution in our journey to strive for zero harm to our people.
‘We truly believe that healthier people are safer people. To be recognized as one of the country’s healthiest workplaces is true testament to this commitment and the results we are seeing from our Healthy You programme.’
