A-Plant launch new health and safety campaign
A-Plant have launched a new campaign to increase safety levels in the wide range of industries served by the company. The ‘Setting the Safety Standard’ campaign – which follows the previous campaign ‘Your Safety…Is Our Priority’ – answers a primary need identified by customers for more information and solutions to meet current and future safety legislation.
Through the current campaign, A-Plant will be working with customers to reduce injuries on site by ensuring their employees operate in the safest possible working environment. To help raise awareness of the growing importance of health and safety in the workplace, the company has published an enhanced version of their popular ‘Site Safety Pack’.
The new information pack includes folders, posters, stickers, hand-arm vibration leaflets and an extensive 60-page health and safety handbook. The Site Safety Pack also covers the dangers of working with dust, focusing on the substantially reduced Workplace Exposure Limit (WEL) for respirable crystalline silica (RCS) exposure introduced by the HSE.
According to the HSE, over 140,000 workers in the UK are in danger of being exposed to airborne dust containing RCS, and the aim of the new WEL is to reduce the possibility of employees contracting the irreversible lung disease silicosis.
The Site Safety Pack provides information on A-Plant’s range of dust-extraction and suppression products to help contractors meet the reduced WEL. All the company’s equipment complies with COSHH Regulations stating that dust should be primarily extracted from the point of its production, with airborne dust cleaning being a secondary back-up.
