3M introduce the Peltor X series

New range of award-winning ear defenders offering enhanced comfort and protection

Diversified technology company 3M have announced the launch of the Peltor X ear defenders series, a new range of ear defenders offering enhanced comfort and protection.

Awarded the red dot prize for excellence in product design, the series was created in collaboration with customers, utilizing more than 40 years of 3M expertise in the field of hearing protection.

The Peltor X ear defenders range consists of five different models offering increasing levels of protection, each available as a headband or helmet-mounted version giving 10 products in total.

The Peltor X5 ear defenders model (pictured) is protective enough to deal with high-noise environments, such as quarries and processing plants, offering the highest attenuation of the range and the greatest level of protection currently available on the ear defender market (SNR 37dB).

The five-model range is colour-coded to provide easy recognition between levels, while the modern styling and comfortable fit can help to aid workplace compliance. 

Sarah Broadbent, technical services engineer for the 3M Personal Safety Division, explained: ‘Combining the latest attenuation techniques with the leading features of our existing Peltor brand Optime ear defenders range has led to the development of the Peltor X series.

‘The five levels of protection offered by the Peltor X series make it suitable for a wide range of industries and applications, while the new foam sealing rings on the higher-attenuating products minimise bulk, making it easy to incorporate with other pieces of personal protective equipment without compromising on safety.

‘The Peltor X5 model, in particular, is ideally suited for quarry staff who require the highest levels of protection against noise.’
