Nature After Minerals: Managing water margins and islands for biodiversity

Venue

RSPB Middleton Lakes

Or, how to get rid of bath tubs! Mineral site restoration can leave large waterbodies behind. This course will look at the best practice and practicalities, through theory, case studies and a site visit, to design lakes which offer a range of homes for nature, and how to construct them.

The day consists of an indoor morning session with guest speakers and land management experts providing advice on the subject in hand; a light lunch with the opportunity to network with other delegates; and a site visit to learn from on-the-ground examples of relevant best practice.

Spaces are limited to 25.
