Getting Closer
New Holland Construction’s Yellow Factor Programme gives customers a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of their manufacturing operations in Turin
New Holland Construction have a long history of continuously renewing their product range and developing new technologies to match the evolving needs of their customers, providing them with productive performance, fuel-efficiency, the highest levels of operator health and safety, and the most competitive cost of ownership.
As the UK quarrying industry operates more sustainably than ever before, New Holland have invested heavily in reducing their equipment’s impact on the environment. The most recent innovation is the introduction of the firm’s advanced engine technologies – developed by sister company Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT) to meet the stringent EU Stage III/US Tier 4 interim emissions standards.
At Hillhead 2012, New Holland confirmed their credentials as a low-emission leader with a number of new machines on static display and demonstration, all of which featured Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to meet Tier 4 interim emissions regulations. Among the products taking centre stage on the stand were the E215C and E305C crawler excavators and W190C, W270C and W300C wheel loaders, all forming part of the company’s product renewal programme.
According to New Holland, the renewal programme will complete the company’s full offering of Tier 4 interim products by the end of the year. The next phase for the Italian manufacturer will be the development of Tier 4 Final-compliant engines.
Behind the scenes
New Holland are very proud of their technological innovation, design excellence and manufacturing quality, so much so that this year saw the launch of the company’s Yellow Factor Tour – a programme inviting customers to see, at first hand, the care that goes into building its products and the resources available for technological innovation and development.
Participants on the Yellow Factor Tour will learn not only about New Holland products but also the sister brands comprising Iveco, CNH and FPT at the Fiat Industrial Village in Turin, Italy. Covering over 74,000m2, the multi-purpose centre boasts a state-of-the-art showroom, a spacious conference hall, a retail store selling branded merchandise and a historical gallery detailing the Fiat Group’s technological advances over the years. A special New Holland Construction demonstration area has also been set up for visitors to test drive a selection of machines.
The Yellow Factor Programme also includes visits to the nearby FPT and San Mauro plants, where customers can see what engines, components and systems are used in the production of New Holland’s construction equipment, as well as the high standards of quality control in place at these facilities.
The heavy investments made in recent years and the transformation in logistics make the San Mauro plant one of Europe’s largest facilities for the production of wheeled and crawler excavators. Manufacturing quality is a cornerstone of New Holland’s business growth strategy and the state-of-the-art production cycle at San Mauro, combined with the professionalism of the plant’s workforce, demonstrates the company’s strong commitment to maximizing efficiency, eliminating waste and reducing its environmental impact.
Above all, with 10 manufacturing plants across the world and a global network of dealers, New Holland are able to continue to support their customers with a wide range of equipment solutions, as the demand for more efficient and environmentally friendly construction machinery is expected to increase in the future.
