Water monitors added to Ashtead hire fleet
Ashtead Technology Rentals have added the YSI 556 multi-parameter water quality sonde and SonTek Flowtracker to their fleet of water-monitoring instruments. The YSI 556 has been specially designed to combine the versatility of a user-friendly and easy-to-read handheld unit with the functionality of a multi-parameter system.
The instrument, which features an IP-67, impact-resistant case, can simultaneously measure dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, temperature and ORP, while up to 49,000 time stamped records can be stored before downloading to a PC.

It lends itself perfectly to renting because the instrument is a rugged, highly flexible tool suitable for use in a wide variety of water quality monitoring applications.’
The SonTek FlowTracker, meanwhile, employs Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter technology in a compact, handheld unit for accurate, high-precision water velocity measurements in natural streams, weirs/flumes and open channels. It easily attaches to top-setting wading rods and features an automatic discharge computation program.
The FlowTracker can store up to 64 discharge measurements or over 150,000 individual velocity samples.
