Volvo CE launch Volvo Site Operations

Volvo Site Operations integrates supplier data across all machines and assets – regardless of brand – into a single, powerful view of operations Volvo Site Operations integrates supplier data across all machines and assets – regardless of brand – into a single, powerful view of operations

New digital service maximizes quarry productivity by consolidating all machine and asset data across brands

VOLVO Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) are launching a pioneering digital service, Volvo Site Operations, which allows customers to monitor and follow up on their production – now for the first time across every brand of machines and assets. This brand-agnostic solution unifies data and provides actionable real-time insights that help customers to take control of business like never before.

Designed for quarrying and aggregates customers managing large, mixed fleets, Volvo Site Operations utilizes data to optimize the production and, therefore, the business. This service provides site managers with comprehensive, real-time information across all facets of their operations, empowering them to make informed decisions that boost productivity and safety, and reduce their environmental impact.

Azadeh Fazl Mashadi, service offer owner at Volvo CE, said: ‘On today’s fast-paced job sites, site managers are juggling the need to increase productivity and efficiency, but also prioritize safety and reduce CO2 emissions. Data is the key enabler for change. But while the availability of data is expanding, converting raw data into actionable insights remains a challenge.

‘Volvo Site Operations addresses this by integrating supplier data across all machines and assets, like crushers and weighbridges – regardless of brand – into a single, powerful view of operations. This digital tool delivers real-time insights that help site managers unlock the full potential of their job sites.’

With Volvo Site Operations, machine operators are provided with an intuitive tablet that collects geo-position data. This information is then integrated with machine and productivity data gathered through a cloud-based solution, consolidating everything into a single, cohesive view. Site managers can monitor machine performance, track material flow, and assess CO2 emissions and productivity across each process, allowing them to pinpoint areas for improvement.

Production dashboards share key information on material movements and fuel consumption, removing the need for paper-based tracking and guesswork Production dashboards share key information on material movements and fuel consumption, removing the need for paper-based tracking and guesswork

Volvo Site Operations measures critical parameters in the production flow, offering valuable insights to streamline tasks and optimize material movement. This can result in productivity increases of 10–20%. Production dashboards share key information on material movements and fuel consumption, removing the need for paper-based tracking and guesswork. The service alerts operators in real time to potential faulty dumps, helping to avoid costly mistakes or rework. By automating data collecting and reporting, administrative burdens can be reduced by up to 80%, simplifying processes, saving time and improving accuracy.

Through advanced geo-fencing and asset positioning, Volvo Site Operations allows for the real-time tracking of machines and assets across worksites, boosting situational awareness and aiding operators in making safer decisions. Alerts notify operators of speeding and unauthorized entry zones. Instant communication of important site changes, such as speed limits and restricted zones, helps prevent potential hazards. By improving visibility across the jobsite for everyone, Volvo Site Operations elevates safety standards.

Volvo Site Operations enables potential fuel savings and CO2 emission reductions of between 10–15%. The map, together with real-time positioning, optimize traffic conditions, reducing queues and waiting times to improve productivity while lowering fuel consumption. Accurate CO2 emission measurements from all machines and assets provide insights for fleet optimization. By leveraging data, actionable steps can be taken to significantly reduce emissions.

Being introduced for the first time at Bauma 2025 in Munich, Germany, Volvo Site Operations will initially be available to customers in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Denmark, France, Norway, Switzerland, and Australia.
