Size matters
Who says size does not matter? Well, it does when it comes to automation and control. Variohm have launched a rotary position sensor — measuring just 13mm in diameter — for applications in confined spaces.
Vert-X 13 is a contact-free sensor, suitable for detecting the angles of swinging and gripper arms or for the precise measurement of camera positions. Despite its diminutive size, the sensor is highly robust thanks to a stainless steel case and shaft, supported by smooth-running precision ball bearings, which provide radial and axial shaft loadings of up to 5N.
Vert-X 13 has also been designed with flexibility in mind in order to meet different customer needs. The sensor’s set-up ranges from ratiometic (analogue) voltage output or incremental output signal (A,B,Z) through to a serial SSI or SPI interface or a PWM interface. Customers can also choose between rising and falling signals.
