Seeing the light
Doosan Infracore Portable Power have introduced their V9 light tower, which has been designed to offer the added benefits of improved reliability and safety, reduced fuel consumption and lower operating costs.
Equipped with a 6kVA Mecc Alte LT3/130 alternator and two 16A auxiliary sockets, the V9 is powered by a Kubota D1105 diesel engine, offering 8.4kW at 1,500 rev/min.
The unit features four rotatable 1,000W metal halide lamps, providing a lighting power of 360,000 lumens. The mast is raised hydraulically to a maximum height of around 9m in 10s and features automatic safety locking developed to resist wind speeds in excess of 100km/h.
Other safety features of the V9 include an in-built level gauge, an emergency relief valve and a grounding rod and cable for earth leakage protection. For environmental safety, the light tower comes with a fully bunded base to ensure that all operating fluids – fuel, oil and water – are kept within the unit.
The V9 has a 130-litre fuel tank capacity with a running time of 73h. The control panel includes standard instrument gauges, a key start, engine hour meter and automatic protective shutdowns in the event of high water temperature, low fuel level or low engine oil pressure.
