Samsung fork-lift for Blue Circle

Blue Circle Cement’s Northfleet works has taken delivery of a 7-tonne capacity Samsung SF70D fork-lift from local dealers Stac-a-Truc of Thatcham. The unit complements an existing fleet of seven 3-tonne Samsung units already on site.

"The SF70D, which is in constant use for 12h each day, is being used to handle bagged cement using special 2.4m long forks. To suit the application, several modifications have been made to the machine including the fitment of larger, super-elastic tyres in place of the standard twin-wheel layout. This saves space when stacking the product in the confines of the packing plant."

"The turbocharged Perkins diesel engine has been equipped with a heavy-duty air-filtration system to help protect it from the dusty environment, and the vertical exhaust has been re-routed to exit at ground level."
