Rocket Walls
Co. Antrim-based Kilwaughter Chemical Co. have recently used Rocket Walls from Macrete Ireland Ltd to form bunkers for the storage of different grades of sand at Kilwaughter Quarry.
Andreas Abitz, quarry manager, commented: ‘Macrete Rocket Walls offer a quick solution for creating bunkers and are also very flexible, as you can quickly relocate them using a special fork-lift attachment, which Macrete can supply.’ He added that Rocket Walls also have the advantage of not having a protruding foot, which was a feature of the traditional L-type walls previously used by the company. ‘Loading shovels were continuously damaging the feet of the L-type walls, which meant they had a short life expectancy,’ he said.
