Renault Trucks for JW Morrison
Company’s bulk haulage fleet drivers converted to Renault Trucks by new-range T-series models
JW Morrison Haulage Contractors, one of Scotland’s leading quarry, coal and road salt bulk hauliers, have selected Renault Trucks as replacement vehicles for their 23-strong fleet.
Two 44-tonne T460 6x2 tag-axle units have just gone on the road, both fitted with front, side and rear Smart Witness cameras, part of the company’s commitment to safer driving to protect vulnerable road users.
The vehicles, in JW Morrison’s distinctive metallic brown and cream livery, will travel the length and breadth of the UK on seasonal tipper work delivering animal feed and road-gritting salt in winter, and carrying out quarry work during the summer.
JW Morrison’s owner and partner, Joe Morrison, said: ‘I selected the new-range Ts as we have had very favourable experiences with Renault Premiums and I’d heard good things about the new Euro 6 vehicles and the improvements that have been made.
‘I’ve always found the Renault Trucks’ sales and support staff very helpful, and this, together with a strong after-sales support package from the dealer, helped to clinch the deal.
‘Following an introduction to the new-range Ts at Renault’s launch event, our drivers put a demonstrator through its paces. They liked it so much they have been converted to Renault Trucks and I’ve had great feedback about the cab from them; there’s definitely more space and they particularly like the interior layout.
‘As our drivers are out on the road on long distances for up to four nights a week, it is vital that they are happy and comfortable, and we are confident that the new-range Ts will perform in all areas.’
Established in 1978 and based in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, JW Morrison are a family-run business specializing in the bulk haulage of quarry materials, coal and road salt, as well as being a JAUPT-approved training centre for LGV driver CPC training.
