Remote-controlled traffic light
Transport Support have lunched their new TS remote-controlled traffic light (RTL) – a fully stand-alone unit that does not require a mains power source or generator.
Powered by a high-capacity 24V rechargeable battery, the TS RTL is designed to run for 160h before a recharge is required. It is completely man portable and can be easily moved around any site.
The system, which can be operated by a hand-held remote control unit with a range of 1km, was originally designed to control traffic flow on landfill and quarry sites but can be used in almost any application.
Key features of the TS RTL include: a built-in rapid charger; ultra-bright LED lamps visible from more than 1km away; silent operation; heavy-duty steel construction; collapsible stand and lockable base unit; high-visibility weather-resistant coating; and a built in battery charger with 5m mains lead and charge indicator.
Three configuration options are available: remote-control switching with timer; remote-control switching without timer; and timed switching without remote control. TS RTL units can also be supplied in pairs featuring sensor-triggered priority for effective two-way traffic control.
Other systems available from Transport Support include: fixed traffic light installations, fixed and portable traffic light crossings, and loading bay signals.
