Real-time tracking solution for Tarmac

TARMAC have signed a major contract with Masternaut Three X for a specially developed web-based satellite tracking system for their fleet of aggregate, asphalt and ready-mixed concrete delivery vehicles.

The Masternaut service, which will be implemented throughout Tarmac’s Aggregate Products division, will be used to track vehicle movements in real time, allowing Tarmac to boost customer service and operational productivity and efficiency.

Initially, Tarmac will implement the system across 1,350 vehicles owned by contracted and regular hauliers over the next three months. It is anticipated that more of the aggregates fleet will be equipped with the service by the end of the year.

Using Masternaut reporting, the company will be able to monitor and obtain specific information about each vehicle as well as being able to answer customer queries about their aggregate orders by accessing the real-time information provided by the tracking solution.

‘Delivering on time, every time is a critical objective for aggregates suppliers,’ said Mark Leavy, corporate accounts director with Masternaut Three X. ‘Customers need to know that their orders have been dispatched and when they will arrive on site.

‘Likewise, Tarmac do not want their vehicles arriving on site and waiting excessive periods before tipping asphalt or ready-mixed concrete. The solution we have developed with Tarmac provides precise real-time information that will benefit both the Aggregate Products division and its customers.’
