‘Power-dense’ worm gearboxes from Yilmaz Reduktor

A new range of ‘power-dense’ worm gearboxes from Turkish manufacturers Yilmaz Reduktor are said to offer the highest possible output torque (up to 2,600Nm) from the smallest possible size envelope. The gearboxes – which are being distributed by Richard Alan Group – are designed with hardened and ground cylindrical worms, combined with phosphorous bronze worm wheels, ensuring good reliability and maximum strength.

The monoblock design of the gearbox also offers excellent strength; bearings are protected by one-piece monoblock housing, in place of cover plates, improving both bearing and gear life. In addition to the Yilmaz design, the middle bearing support plate is integrally cast, providing optimum support for bearings used in three-stage gearboxes.

As well as providing substantial operational advantages, the worm boxes are flexible to configure and easy to mount. Alternative foot mounting positions from all sides of the gearbox offer versatile assembly conditions, while IEC B14 and B5 flanges ensure easy input connection of AC squirrel cage drive motors, as well as simplified connection of worm gear output.

The gearboxes have a standard European footprint, which means that they can interchange directly with most of the leading manufacturers of worm gearboxes in the market.

Furthermore, Yilmaz ‘s worm boxes are supported by a wide range of options including: ATEX specification; extended and hollow shafts; forced-lubrication systems; variable-speed drives; IEC frame bespoke motors; and strengthened/extended bearing arrangements for high radial load and agitator applications.
