Non-Stick Screen

Gallagher Aggregates have taken delivery of the 900th Bivitec screen from Austrian manufacturers Binder for use at Hermitage Quarry, near Maidstone in Kent.

Supplied by DUO, the 8m long x 2.4m wide screen features 25mm aperture fingers on its top deck and 6mm aperture polyurethane mats on the bottom deck, and is capable of accepting a feed rate of up to 500 tonnes/h. Used to recover valuable –20mm stone from the sandy ‘hassock’ material that is extracted along with the Kentish Ragstone deposit found at the site, Gallagher say they are very impressed by the ability of the screen to size this soft material – which can become very difficult when wet – at very small aperture sizes, compared with the traditional mobile screens they used previously.
