Nine Range C460s for Cardinalis Concrete

Cardinalis Concrete

Cambridgeshire-based volumetric supplier converts three quarters of fleet to Renault Trucks

CARDINALIS Concrete, Cambridge’s leading volumetric suppliers, have introduced the first Renault trucks into their line-up by changing 75% of the company’s fleet to the Range C. Supplied by Renault Trucks dealers Norfolk Truck and Van on a two-year full repair and maintenance package, the nine Range C460 8x4s come equipped with 9 cubic metre production capacity Reimer ProAll P8525 mobile batch plants.

Following rapid expansion under the helm of Michele Hall, and with sales increasing by 40% year on year, Cardinalis Concrete say the time was right to re-energize its business through significant investment in the company. ‘We turned to market-leaders Reimer to discuss our requirements and options for new vehicles, and it was their high recommendation of the Range C chassis and overall package that has seen us convert three quarters of our fleet to Renault Trucks, a manufacturer that we previously haven’t used,’ said Ms Hall.

Gary Collar from Reimer explained why they favoured Renault Trucks for the Cardinalis Concrete operation: ‘The Range C specification is impressive; it’s a whole lot of truck for the money. The high torque PTO of 1,600Nm in particular is a great feature with the output above the gearbox at 12 o’clock, which enables a short prop to the machine and allows it to be switched on and off rather than constant, while the 1:54 ratio reduces the operating revs to 975 rev/min, giving fuel saving potential.’

He continued: ‘As well as being a well-built truck, the customer service we consistently receive from Peter Thirkettle at Norfolk Truck and Van is ‘stand out’ and is one of the key reasons we work with Renault Trucks. As well as being extremely helpful, Peter is constantly on the ball, pulling out all the stops and responding to our queries promptly, it’s service like this that we value highly and really sets Renault Trucks apart from the rest.’

Delivering concrete to Cardinalis Concrete’s customers within a 50-mile radius of Cambridge, the Range C’s good ground clearance provides excellent drivability on all types of terrain, as Michelle Hall explained: ‘Negotiating the small, narrow streets of Cambridge, as well as entering awkward and restricted access sites, calls for highly agile and manoeuvrable trucks and experienced drivers. The Range C is a flexible truck that is proving its worth on a multitude of jobs for multinational clients, local builders as well as ‘one-man band’ residential projects.’
