New drill and blast consumables from MTi

MTI Group, specialists in drilling and blasting consumables, have introduced two new products for both surface and underground applications –– the MiTi Measure and the Hi-Flo BlastBall.

The MiTi Measure is a polyrope/polyline tape made from a high visibility florescent green PVC with an internal fibre core. A durable and transparent UV-resistant PVC coating ensures that the numbers remain protected from the abrasion and chemicals encountered in drilling and blasting applications.

The MiTi Measure can be used for dipping holes, laying out patterns, lowering gasbags etc, and is designed to last up to two or three times longer than traditional flat fibreglass surveyors’ ropes/tapes.

As well as being more resilient than a standard tape, MTi Group say the MiTi Measure is quicker to use, slips easily along the ground will not become knotted or tangled. The product is available in three metric lengths (30m, 50m and 100m) and three imperial lengths (60ft, 100ft and 200ft).

The Hi-Flo BlastBall is designed for various plugging applications, including air-decking, pre-splitting, improving fragmentation, reducing airblast and vibration, improving wall control, reducing explosives waste, void management etc. Apart from the BlastBall itself, all that is needed is an air source, an air line and an air gauge.

The BlastBall plug comprises a dual-layer nylon reinforced bladder featuring a patented valve arrangement that incorporates a reliable Schrader valve and an annular snap coupling for fast, simple and consistent connection.

Hi-Flo BlastBalls are available in six sizes to fit blastholes ranging from 3in (76mm) up to approximately 14in (356mm).
