New director at CPA
Former senior manager Kevin Minton promoted to director of Construction Plant-hire Association
KEVIN Minton (pictured) has been promoted to director of the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA), with effect from April 2013. He will report to chief executive officer Colin Wood and the Association’s governing council.
Mr Minton was previously a senior manager at the CPA for five years, and was involved in the full range of CPA activities, with a special emphasis on health and safety issues and representing the CPA to other bodies.
He was instrumental in forming the Strategic Forum Plant Safety Group in 2009, and since then has co-ordinated its activity, most recently chairing the working group behind the new Good Practice Guide on Medical Fitness for Plant Operators.
Mr Minton’s new role as director of the CPA will see him taking on a bigger role within the organization and reinforcing his liaison work with government bodies and industry associations. He will continue to represent the CPA on CONIAC, the HSE’s leading policy committee for the construction sector, and will also act as the main link with other industry bodies.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Minton said: ‘I am looking forward to expanding my role at the CPA and getting more closely involved with the industry. The forthcoming Plantworx exhibition will be the perfect opportunity to meet with CPA members both old and new.’
CPA chief executive Colin Wood said: ‘Kevin has a wealth of experience working for trade associations in the plant-hire sector. He has been with the CPA for over five years now, in a senior management position, having previously worked for the HAE for almost 20 years before that. I look forward to working with him in his new role.’
