Midland Quarry Products launch Carbon Calculator

Online tool to help customers calculate carbon emissions for asphalt deliveries and collections

MIDLAND Quarry Products (MQP) are launching an online Carbon Calculator tool that will allow customers to calculate the carbon emissions for either their asphalt collections or deliveries to their work sites.

MQP say they are committed to working with their customers to reduce their impact on the environment, but that to date they have concentrated on reducing the carbon emissions generated by their own processes and developing a range of low-carbon alternative products.

The next step, they say, is to give their customers the opportunity to measure the carbon content of the products they are using and, therefore, understand what opportunities they have to reduce their impact on the environment.

The new tool is based on the industry-standard ‘asPECT’ carbon calculator, and MQP customers will be able to make multi-product selections to create whole-scheme calculations. They will then be able to see the carbon content of the products they are ordering in a user-friendly manner.
 
The tool will also give the carbon emission levels for MQP’s equivalent low-carbon products and provide the customer with the opportunity to request a quotation.

MQP believe that by giving their customers this information, and the opportunity to order low-carbon alternatives, it will help them to measure and understand their carbon footprint and, together with MQP, take steps to reduce it.
