Low-cost solids level radar
Over 15 years on from their first radar, VEGA have launched VEGAPULS 67, an affordable ‘entry level’ device for bulk solids level measurement, designed for applications where ultrasonic or capacitive probes have traditionally been used.
The device incorporates an innovative new encapsulated and dust-resistant antenna system, which makes it possible to offer a considerably lower price, while retaining the heritage of tried and tested high-sensitivity pulse radar technology combined with ECHOFOX signal evaluation optimized for bulk solids.
The sensor, which has a range of up to 15m, is designed for applications in small-to-medium-sized silos, hoppers, conveyors etc, or for crusher level control, making it suitable for aggregates and building materials production and processing.
A special mounting concept makes it easy to install the small, lightweight sensor, while two-wire technology allows straightforward replacement of other systems as the existing wiring can be used.
The sensor has all the relevant ATEX approvals for dust Ex hazardous areas along with Profibus and FF options, as well as the three-year warranty that comes as standard with all VEGA devices in the UK.
VEGA have also launched a new online store – www.vega-line.co.uk – where users from all industries can directly buy level/pressure instruments and controls for both liquids and solids handling applications.
The products include: ultrasonic sensors; pressure transmitters, vibrating level switches; display/signal conditioners; ‘EX’ barriers; ATEX-compliant equipment; and a range of mounting accessories. All ordered products are dispatched nationwide the following day.
