Low-cost expansion for Halton Concrete
Widnes-based Halton Concrete needed to increase the storage capacity of their plant to deal with their expanding production and so decided to install a new silo.
They discovered that WAM Products, a new division of WAM,were manufacturing bolted silos in a purpose-built factory in Croatia. After further investigation, Halton Concrete decided that the final assembly was not only simple, but it could be carried out by unskilled labour.
The ability to use their own workforce, combined with the clear instructions provided and the low cost of the unit, persuaded Halton Concrete to proceed with the purchase of a 50m3 silo.
The silo was delivered on time, finished in a colour specified by Halton Concrete, and was installed with ease.The silo was supplied complete with fill pipe, guarded ladder and top handrails, and pre-fitted with flanges for a silo venting filter, a pressure relief valve, a butterfly valve, and bosses for bin level indicators.To complete the plant expansion a screw feeder designed specifically for cement feeding was also ordered from WAM.Total installation time was less than one day.
