Load counting made simple
ROCKMATE Technical Services Ltd say that LoadLogger – their new shovel-mounted dumptruck load-counting system – has now been used successfully for more that a year on excavators working at ATH Resources’ opencast coal sites in Scotland.
The system provides an inexpensive way of counting the number of dumptrucks a shovel has loaded in real time, without requiring the shovel driver to press any extra buttons. Every truck that is loaded is counted and displayed on a computer screen in the site office via a wireless link, allowing the site manager/supervisor to see at a glance if a shovel is having difficulty digging.
Rockmate say LoadLogger can be used to help management identify opportunities to gain extra loads per shift either by tightening up on time-keeping, or by identifying problems so that remedial action can be taken at the earliest opportunity. It can also be used to measure the success, or otherwise, of management decisions.
In addition, LoadLogger’s software generates data that can be used in the production of weekly reports.
