Kemppi launch new Fitweld 300 welder
Bedford-based Kemppi (UK) Ltd have unveiled a new compact MIG/MAG welding machine – the FitWeld 300 – which is said to offer up to 57% savings on input power compared with traditional MMA welding.
The lightweight, easy-to-handle, three-phase 400V 50/60Hz welder has been designed as a replacement for MMA welding or tack welding by increasing welding speeds to twice that of MMA welding, making it suitable for use in heavy equipment manufacturing.
Rated 300A at 20% duty cycle, FitWeld 300 has a 43V open circuit voltage (OCV) and can be used with mild steel solid and flux-cored wires, as well as stainless steel and aluminium wires (0.8–1.2mm).
Key features of the welding machine include: QuickArc, a clean arc ignition that produces minimum spatter and fast arc stabilization; the latest GT WireDrive, which provides a rapid response to welding gun trigger signals, as well as for multiple arc start use; and in-built lighting, which gives the welder cool white light to help make wire spool changes and parameter adjustments easier and safer in low-light working conditions.
