Jones Bros appoint new environmental boss
JONES Bros, the North Wales-based civil engineering and quarrying firm, have appointed David Gibson as health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) manager.
Mr Gibson will take charge of environmental issues for every project the company works on, which range from wind farms to coastal defence and highways projects.
‘It’s a very exciting time to be joining Jones Bros as there are major construction projects both under way and in the pipeline,’ commented Mr Gibson.
‘The company already enjoys an enviable reputation for very high standards in health, safety, environmental and quality management, and I will be aiming to lead the team to further develop these capabilities to ensure we set new industry standards.’
In addition to strengthening the environmental management on Jones Bros contracts, Mr Gibson is also keen to emphasize the capabilities of the company’s Training Centre, which forms part of the HSEQ Department.
‘We recently achieved accreditation to provide 4x4 training and we’re working towards further accreditations. We intend to provide quality training in health and safety and environmental fields to external as well as our own site staff.’
Mr Gibson joins Jones Bros from Carillion where he worked as environment manager for two years. Prior to that he worked for Alfred McAlpine and the Environment Agency.
