Jet Plant take delivery of 100th Wirtgen road planer
Delivery of latest W100CFi planer marks major milestone in companies’ 30-year relationship
ONE of the UK’s leading road-planing companies, Jet Plant Hire, have taken delivery of their 100th planer from the Wirtgen Group, the world’s leading milling machine manufacturer.
The new Wirtgen W100CFi, a tracked 1m cold-milling machine was formally handed over to Jet Plant’s managing director, Sean Witheford, at the manufacturer’s factory in Windhagen, Germany.
Wirtgen, who have been supplying Jet Plant with milling machines since 1989, say the new W100CFi boasts the latest engine technology and delivers significant fuel savings and reduced emissions, ensuring it exceeds all current standards.
It also comes equipped with Wirtgen’s vacuum cutting system (VCS), designed to minimize dust and improve the working environment for operatives and members of the public.
The relationship between the two companies is not limited to planing machines, with all Jet Plant’s cutting tools also being exclusively supplied by Wirtgen.
Moreover, in addition to equipment, Wirtgen have supplied training to a number of Jet Plant’s employees at their facility in Germany. This has helped to further their operational skills and improved the company’s overall process efficiency.
Commenting on delivery of the landmark machine, Sean Witheford said: ‘Our business has grown considerably over the past three decades, and in order to maintain this growth it is important we invest in the best-quality equipment on the market.
‘Wirtgen have been our number-one choice and reinforce our company ethos of ‘setting the standards by which others are judged’. They have been an integral part of our success and we look forward to maintaining our very close relationship for many years to come.’
Wirtgen UK’s managing director, Paul Holmes, commented: ‘Our relationship with Jet Plant runs much deeper than simply being a machine supplier. Many of our employees have worked with the company since they started using our machines nearly 30 years ago.
‘As a result, we have built a strong bond and trust which enables us to work closely together and ensure that we are doing everything possible to optimize the service that Jet Plant provide to their customers, and to support them in the continued growth of their business. We look forward to continuing this successful partnership.’
