Hyundai launch first faceshovel excavator
FOLLOWING the release of their 80-tonne R800LC-7A backhoe excavator, Hyundai Heavy Industries Europe (HHIE) are now introducing the R800-7A FS, an 86.5-tonne faceshovel crawler excavator.
Based on the R800LC-7A backhoe, the faceshovel version offers greater breakout force and is said to incorporate a wide range of extensively tested structures, systems and components. The machine is powered by a low-noise, low-emission Tier III Cummins QSX15 engine delivering 497hp.
According to Hyundai, the R800-7A FS features a smooth and sensitive hydraulics system for precision operations, while performance and comfort levels can be adjusted to suit the operator in the proven Hyundai dash-7A Series cab. The cab itself is mounted on a riser, providing the operator with a better view of the working area.
Designed for heavy duty work above undercarriage level, Hyundai say the faceshovel configuration on the R800-7A FS facilitates the excavation and loading of material into haul units, making the machine particularly suitable for use in quarries and open-pit mines.
