Hitachi launch new wheel loaders
Hitachi Construction Machinery have introduced two new wheel loader models – the ZW140 and ZW150 – to further strengthen their ZW wheel loader line-up. In developing the latest models, the company focused on providing a number of features, which have become synonymous with the ZW series.
First, Hitachi say they have equipped the machines with powerful but economical and durable engines. The 96kW and 107kW engines – for the ZW140 and ZW150 respectively – are said to reduce fuel consumption and increase productivity on a wide range of job sites.
Hitachi say operators will find the new wheel loaders to be highly efficient, thanks to a specially designed hydraulic drive system – the Hydro-Static Transmission (HST) – which offers greater mobility when fully loaded and smoother control on a gradient during acceleration and deceleration.
In addition, the HST’s speed selector gives the operator a range of four different speeds to meet the requirements of a particular job, while the wheel loaders’ Optimum Traction Force can be set to increase efficiency.
There are four selectable working modes on the new machines, including electronic matching control, which senses the hydraulic pressure and controls the traction forces, maximizing productivity and keeping tyre wear and tear and fuel consumption to a minimum.
Running and maintenance costs are greatly reduced on the ZW140 and ZW150 wheel loaders, thanks to the use of durable components, such as HN bushings, axles, transmissions and brakes. The bushings, for example, are said to increase lubrication intervals from 100h to 500h, minimizing maintenance and downtime.
The cab environment of the machines has been designed with operator comfort in mind. All controls, switches and pedals are ergonomically designed and positioned for ease of use.
Any shocks and vibrations are absorbed by the well-sealed cab, which also helps to reduce resonance and noise levels. Operators also benefit from air-conditioning and a hollow resin roof, which helps prevent temperature fluctuation.
