Hills Quarry Products start new year with safety briefings

Hills health and safety briefing A health and safety briefing taking place at Cerney Wick Quarry

Company pledges ongoing health and safety commitment across all quarry and concrete sites in 2023

AS part of Hills Quarry Products’ ongoing commitment to health and safety, the company delayed the opening of all its sites until 10:30 on Tuesday 3 January, to allow employees to participate in a morning of health and safety briefings.

The briefings, which were held across operational quarry and concrete sites, took place on the first day back after the festive shutdown as part of Hills’ commitment to maintaining their excellent health and safety record.

As well as reviewing existing health and safety targets and accomplishments throughout the past year, the briefings also included setting new targets for 2023 based on employee and auditor feedback.

Group director Peter Andrew said: ‘The New Year is always a great time to remind employees at Hills Quarry Products about the importance of health and safety across all of our sites.

‘It’s also a good opportunity for us to look at our achievements over the last 12 months and to review our targets in this area. It is imperative to everyone at Hills Quarry Products that our excellent safety record continues in 2023.’

Hills held briefings at their operational sites in Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, and Dorset.
