Hanson mark tree week

Hanson Aggregates celebrated National Tree Week by inviting local schoolchildren to help plant trees and shrubs at their Tytherington Quarry in Gloucestershire.

"The entrance and access road into the quarry are being transformed from bare hardstanding into a wooded area containing around 750 trees and shrubs. Broadleaved species such as field maple, ash and wild cherry are being planted along with several flowering and berry-bearing species, including dogwood, hawthorn, dog rose, spindle and viburnum, to encourage wildlife."

"The theme of this year’s National Tree Week was ‘Growing together — helping communities grow with trees’, so Hanson invited children from nearby Oldbury-on-Severn primary school to join in the tree-planting exercise."
