Hansford vibration sensors

Today, most maintenance engineers rely on sensors to detect increasing levels of vibration from bearings, shafts and other rotating components and to warn them of inefficient operation or even possible future failure. This important knowledge helps them to maintain quality and avoid plant shutdown, with its inherent high costs.

Hansford Sensors, a new company formed last November, have introduced their first series of piezoelectric vibration sensors designed specifically to monitor the vibration levels on plant and machinery across all types of industries.

The new sensors are built for robustness, owing to their welded stainless steel construction, high shock tolerance and wide temperature operation range. They are available in different models; a side or top entry connector; a tough braided cable; or a submersible version (sealed to IP68) capable of submerging up to a depth of 100m. To fix the sensor, different mounting threads are available, as well as a choice of Quick-Fit or adhesive mount studs.

The vibration sensors also offer a selection of AC, velocity or 4-20mA outputs to suit differing applications.
