AN innovative emergency alarm wristwatch with GPS tracking and anintegrated mobile phone has been launched by satellite tracking firmMasternaut Three X.
Designed as a discreet personal protection solution, the robust andwaterproof LoKate wristwatch incorporates a miniature mobile phone andGPS receiver with an alert button, allowing lone/mobile workers to callfor assistance.
Using an in-built tracker linked to the Internet, the alarm locationis immediately pinpointed on Microsoft Virtual Earth maps or aerialphotography by a dedicated control centre that monitors the user 24h aday, seven days a week.
The control centre will then alert the emergency services or anothermember of staff if assistance is required. Additional reassurance isprovided as the watch doubles as a mobile phone offering voicecommunication.
Suitable for all types of lone-worker situations, includinggeologists, field engineers, drivers, surveyors etc, LoKate runs overthe established Masternaut vehicle and mobile asset satellite-trackingservice with voice and data communications handled by a standardGSM/GPRS network.
Wearers can be tracked in real time using any Internet browser,allowing office-based managers and support personnel to monitorfield-based colleagues.
