First Volvo for UK Readymix Concrete
Slough-based materials firm purchases used L110H wheel loader from SMT GB
UK READYMIX Concrete, a provider of aggregates, concrete products, and grab hire services, have invested in their first-ever Volvo wheel loader, an L110H, directly from SMT GB’s used equipment department, with the benefits of a 12-month warranty, remote monitoring and proactive maintenance support.
The aggregates firm has been buying used parts from SMT GB for years, but decided to make the Volvo L110H loading shovel as its first used equipment purchase based on the long-term relationship the company has with SMT GB and the success with a Volvo L90F loader it purchased privately three years ago.
Given UK Readymix Concrete’s enthusiasm for the L90F, the many improvements made to the H-Series of Volvo wheel loaders are sure to be greatly welcomed by the company’s operators and managers alike, including managing director Harry Khakh, who explained: ‘We’re still very happy with the L90F, so we were keen to stick with Volvo. They’re reliable machines.’
Some of the L110H loader’s enhancements include: 20% better fuel efficiency over the G-Series; faster cycle times thanks to a new generation of Optishift; and the addition of a Volvo Eco pedal that reduces excess machine wear whilst also lowering overall fuel consumption.
UK Readymix Concrete's L110H also benefits from Volvo Co-Pilot and the On-Board Weighing application, which provides real-time insights into the bucket’s load to eliminate overloading, underloading, reweighing, and waiting times. Overall, these machine control features contribute to greatly enhanced operator usability and accuracy, as well as on-site efficiency and productivity.
Receiving a comprehensive 120-point inspection prior to delivery, UK Readymix Concrete can rest assured that the L110H has been supplied in perfect working order. At the time of delivery, it had just 1,600+ operating hours and was presented in immaculate condition. ‘The L110H is in good working order and has been thoroughly inspected by the SMT GB team, so we know we’ve bought a good machine,’ Mr Khakh.
For extra reassurance and peace of mind, all machines supplied by the SMT GB Used Equipment team are delivered with a 12-month warranty. UK Readymix Concrete have also opted for a Level 2 Customer Support Agreement to cover the newly purchased L110H, which provides customers with a 10% discount on labour costs for all service work, as well as access to the Volvo CareTrack telematics system and SMT ProCare.
