First UK partnership boosts Siemens Large Drives division

Industrial Automation & Control become first Solution Partner to offer full range of Siemens large drives

SIEMENS Industry Automation and Drive Technologies (IA&DT) have announced their first UK solution partner for Large Drives.

South Wales-based Industrial Automation & Control Ltd (IAC) have been a Siemens Solution Partner for more than 20 years and are Siemens’ largest systems integrators. They are now the first Solution Partner in the UK to offer the full range of Siemens Large Drives solutions.

Andrew Peters (pictured right), divisional director for drive technologies at Siemens IA&DT, commented: ‘It is great to be able to enhance the successful partnership we already have with IAC by bringing them onboard as our first Solution Partner for our Large Drives business. This partnership provides greater access to the full portfolio of Large Drives solutions to customers throughout the UK.’

Peter Lewis (pictured left), managing director at IAC, stated: ‘We are really pleased to be able to extend our Siemens offering by becoming a Solution Partner for the Large Drives division. It’s important for us to offer our customers the widest choice of high-quality solutions and the addition of Siemens Large Drives to our portfolio enables us to build on our existing services.’

This new partnership allows IAC to specify and install Siemens Large Drives solutions with full technical support and expertise.

Siemens IA&DT regularly enhance their Solution Partner programme to ensure their partners have the technical expertise and support to meet the needs of end-users.

There are four main quality areas within the Siemens Solution Partner Programme: Solution, Expert, Project and Portfolio. The certification process must be renewed every two years for the partnership to continue, which means the Solution Partner’s expertise remains up to date and any new products or technological developments are introduced and explained in depth.

IAC turn over £8 million per annum and have expanded over the past few years with wholly owned subsidiaries in West Wales and South Africa.

Specializing in variable-speed drives in the metals and materials-handling markets, IAC offer full turnkey project capabilities including PLC, HMI, SCADA and MCC manufacture.
