Eurovia finalize purchase of Tarmac quarries

VINCI subsidiary Eurovia – a European leader in the construction and maintenance of road and rail transport infrastructures – have finalized the acquisition of 97 Tarmac quarries in France, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.

At the request of the national competition authorities, however, six of the newly acquired quarries in France and three in the Czech Republic will be divested.

Once this process is completed, Eurovia will have a total of 88 new hard rock and sand and gravel extraction sites producing some 27 million tonnes annually and boosting the company’s aggregate production capacity in Europe by 40%.

Eurovia say the acquisition of the Tarmac units will expand their geographical presence in Europe and strengthen the company’s industrial capacity in countries where its road construction activity is growing strongly.
