Donaldson expand testing capabilities
Filtration systems supplier strengthens global presence with opening of three new test labs in Asia and North America
DONALDSON Co. Inc. have opened three new state-of-the-art test labs in China, India and the US to further support their customers around the world. At the company’s regional headquarters in Wuxi, China, Donaldson have added a testing facility at the Greater China R&D Centre to help support the rapid expansion of the engine products business in the country.
The new lab has been developed to conduct a variety of performance testing, including high-precision restriction curves, dust-holding capacity, initial and overall efficiencies and water-separation efficiency in accordance with the latest test standards.
In Gurgaon, India, Donaldson have expanded the regional manufacturing plant with a new air-intake testing facility, giving engineering teams full capability to undertake air-intake testing and product development support to local customers.
Jay Ward, senior vice-president of engine products, commented: ‘Donaldson have a global network of scientists and engineers working to design next-generation filtration technologies for our customers around the world. As we broaden our footprint within developed and emerging markets, these new labs will support the rigorous testing our products must endure and give us the ability to implement critical performance tests quickly, efficiently and much closer to the point of use.’
The company’s industrial filtration solutions division, Donaldson Torit, have also opened a new test facility in Bloomington, Minnesota, to evaluate combustible and non-combustible materials in new and existing filtration products. The state-of-the-art lab – which is environmentally controlled and boasts full suppression and isolation equipment – allows the subsidiary to run full-sized tests on site. This will greatly accelerate product development, which, in the past, had to be done in the field under uncontrolled conditions.
