Czech Republic success for Develon machines

Four demolition excavators from South Korean OEM prove their worth in country’s growing waste-management market

DEVELON’s range of demo-spec excavators has drawn high praise from several demolition and waste-recycling firms in the Czech Republic. Designed to maximize efficiency, uptime, and safety on high-reach demolition projects, the Develon DX140RDM-7, DX245DM-7, DX380DM-7 and the top-of-the-range DX530DM-7 models cover operating weights up to 71 tonnes and a reach of up to 31m.

All four machines offer perfect flexibility thanks to their modular boom design and hydraulic locking mechanism. A cab tilt of up to 30° is available for better operator visibility. The DX140RDM-7 unit is available with either a monolithic or interchangeable boom on request. The DX245DM-7, DX380DM-7, and DX530DM-7 have an interchangeable boom, which not only increases the machine's availability but also significantly simplifies transportation. This is also facilitated by the low transport width of 2.5m, thanks to an extendable chassis.

‘High-reach demolition excavators have a firm place in the heavy equipment market thanks to their variability,’ commented Jan Breburda, product manager for special applications at Develon.

The Develon demolition excavators have successfully found their way to several Czech customers through authorized distributors Garnea.  Demolition using the Develon DX380DM-7, for example, has been carried out by Perena Liberec on the site of a former Tesla factory. The Czech contractor chose the machine for its versatility, long reach boom (23m) and operator comfort.

Another key reason for selecting Develon demolition excavators is their compactness in design, as Dušan Mihalik, director of Prodemi, a Czech demolition firm, explained: ‘We chose the Develon demolition excavator [DX245DM-7] because it was the only brand that could offer a weight category up to 30 tonnes. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the machine can be used on smaller demolition sites where large machines cannot fit and conventional excavators would not be able to do the job safely and efficiently.’

Another important factor for Prodemi is the way the excavator boom is changed. ‘Thanks to the variable boom, a machine can carry out the demolition and then clean up or load straight into the crusher, so there is no need for another machine on site for these operations,’ added Mr Mihalik.

Elsewhere, Prague-based Trepart are delighted with their Develon DX235-5 demolition excavator, which has a reach of 18m and an operating weight of 28.7 tonnes. Pavel Patek, managing director of Trepart, said: ‘It is a compact and lightweight excavator but with a reach of up to 18m. We often work in city centres, where compact dimensions are a great advantage. With the DX235DM-5, we routinely dismantle apartment blocks up to four storeys and other buildings.

‘However, the special demolition modification of Develon machines can be useful in more technologically demanding jobs, for example, in the decommissioning of industrial buildings and production facilities, where the safety of the machine operator is of paramount importance.’

The success of Develon’s high-reach excavators in the Czech demolition market is supported by the OEM’s aftersales market services, ranging from telemetry options and round-the-clock repair services to same/next day delivery on all stock items.
