CEMEX award service contract to Linatex

CAMBERLEY-based Linatex were recently awarded a 12-month maintenance service contract by CEMEX UK, which entailed the supply of labour and parts for planned maintenance initially encompassing 19 sites, including 14 operating Linatex equipment and five with competitors’ equipment, all of which was covered under the agreement.

The contract included all planned servicing and replacement for Linatex slurry pumps, including parts, as well as repair or cost-effective replacement of competitors’ slurry pumps. Sand plant service included plant optimization and upgrades on originally supplied equipment and on competitors’ plants where improvements could be shown to be viable. Linatex rubber lining services were also included, together with the support of Linatex technical engineers for any process issues.

Also included was an agreed schedule for response times and pricing, alongside a commitment to work under CEMEX UK’s health and safety policy, with all Linatex personnel carrying EPIC safety passports.

A minimum quarterly review was included within the agreement to provide both companies with key performance indicators.

Dale Carter, European service manager for Linatex, said: ‘Having recently launched a national tiered service offering to the aggregates industry, we have demonstrated to CEMEX UK that we can provide a total package to help them increase productivity at their plants and also decrease the costs of operating them by utilizing our in house expertise.’

Since the initial contract was completed in July 2007, all CEMEX sites in the UK have now been included under the agreement.
