Blue Scotland expand into concrete batching plants
Company takes on SEMIX batching plant dealership across Scotland and north-east England
BLUE Machinery (Scotland) Ltd are now the authorized distributors for the full range of SEMIX concrete batching solutions across Scotland and the north-east of England.
Founded in 1987 SEMIX manufacture top-level concrete plants and concrete mixers, having exported more than 800 concrete batching plants to over 50 countries across the globe.
Under the new partnership, Blue Scotland will be able to supply the full range, which includes mobile, modular, compact, and static solutions ranging from 30 to 250m3/h.
Austin Carey, managing director of Blue Scotland, commented: ‘After careful due diligence and consideration, we are delighted to announce that we have entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with SEMIX, a market-leading manufacturer of concrete batching plants.
‘Our sales director, Dermot Donaghy, and I have dedicated significant time to thoroughly assessing the market in search of the best OEM partner to serve our customers in Scotland and north-east England.
‘SEMIX, a family business based in Ankara, Turkey, emerged as the ideal choice. They specialize in manufacturing a comprehensive range of mobile and bespoke stationary small to large plants.
‘Dermot will be leading the sales efforts directly to our customers, with support from our engineering and service department based in Stirling.’
Blue Scotland say they have hit the ground running with the first batching plant having recently been installed at A&L McCrae’s site at Clachan Quarry, with another five plants on order throughout their territory.
A&L McCrae director Calum McCrae commented: ‘SEMIX provide the right blend of quality and value. We have a very strong working relationship with Blue Scotland from the crushing and screening side of the business, so we were keen to look at the SEMIX concrete batching plants once we heard that they would be taking on the dealership.
‘Our SEMIX plant has been up and running for some time now and we are really impressed with how user-friendly it is. It’s very easy to service, with an easy-to-use operating system and control panel.
‘Also, if we ever have any issues with the plant, the team from SEMIX in Turkey can dial into the plant within 60 seconds. So far, the only issues that we’ve had were due to operator error on our side. The plant itself has never let us down since the moment it arrived.’
