Andy Taylor joins MPQC’s MP Connect team
Cemex health and safety expert takes on part-time role as compliance and strategic partnerships consultant
THE Mineral Products Qualifications Council (MPQC) has announced the appointment of Andy Taylor as compliance and strategic partnerships consultant, supporting the MP Connect initiative on a part-time basis.
Mr Taylor brings with him more than three decades of industry experience, including an outstanding 30-year career with Cemex. During his time there, he served for 18 years as UK health and safety director and, since 2019, has provided strategic health and safety leadership across the Europe West Materials and Urbanization Solutions business within the EMEA region.
Renowned for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to building a strong culture of care, Mr Taylor has played a pivotal role in shaping initiatives that significantly improved safety performance across the organization. His achievements include leading efforts that resulted in more than 12 months without employee lost-time injuries and more than 18 months without contractor lost-time injuries.
Mr Taylor’s ethos of embedding well-being into core business strategy has earned recognition from respected organizations including RoSPA and the Mineral Products Association. His approach blends compliance with innovation and a clear focus on developing people, from the boardroom to the shop floor.
As he joins MPQC’s MP Connect team, Mr Taylor will support the ongoing development of strategic partnerships and drive continuous improvement across compliance and safety standards within the mineral products sector.

Mr Taylor is a Chartered Member of IOSH, a Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying, and holds an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering.
