Aggregates business stays loyal to Kramer

Chas Long & Son (Aggregates) Ltd have taken delivery of a new Kramer 880 wheel loader to replace an existing Kramer machine at their bagging plant in Richmond, North Yorkshire. The 880, the largest wheel loader in the Kramer range, is being used to feed a number of on-site hoppers at a rate of 500 tonnes per day, as well as loading material on to the company’s fleet of 16 delivery vehicles.

The Kramer wheeled-loader is powered by a Deutz turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine, which provides 90kW (122hp). The machine weighs 8,500kg and offers a maximum payload and load-over height of 4,200kg and 3,530mm respectively.

Commenting on the decision to stick with Kramer, Mark Long said: ‘The first vehicle we purchased from Kramer proved ideal for the work we carry out. Kramer models feature a four-wheel-steer system, which is very useful when working in the confines of a workspace like ours. It is this outstanding manoeuvrability, combined with excellent visibility from the cab and the overall build quality, that has kept us loyal to the Kramer brand.’
