A-Plant invest over £13 million in new equipment

SUPPORTING the company’s commitment to offer customers a choice from one of the youngest and most up-to-date hire fleets in the UK, plant and equipment hire specialists A-Plant have placed new fleet orders worth in excess of £13 million with JCB, Terex and Ingersoll-Rand.

The large order for JCB products included a wide range of telehandler models covering lifting heights from 5m to 17m as well as micro-, mini- and midi-excavators from 950kg to 8 tonnes. The Terex order comprised a comprehensive selection of dumpers, rollers and other compaction equipment. A-Plant have also purchased over 100 new compressors and compressor generators from Ingersoll Rand providing free air capacities up to 11.3 cu m/min (400 cfm).

Sat Dhaiwal, chief executive officer of A-Plant, said: ‘In our last financial year we invested over £70 million in new plant and equipment and we anticipate that our investment for this financial year will exceed that figure. We are 100% committed to ensuring that all our customers, both at a local level and in national accounts, can obtain the exact equipment they want, when and where they want it. We have also invested in developing our sales and service operations to complement the growth in our fleet.’

A-Plant have also recently launched one of their most significant customer service initiatives ever, the new A-Plant Guarantee. Said to be the first of its kind in the industry, the A-Plant Guarantee provides customers with guaranteed service levels with regard to delivery, service, availability and out-of-hours response. If A-Plant do not fulfil these service levels, the customer will be offered free hire or free delivery of a range of guaranteed stock items.

Part of Ashtead Group plc, A-Plant say they offer one of the widest ranging fleets with over 110,000 items of plant, tools and specialist equipment available for hire. Their product range extends from smaller equipment such as electrical tools, lifting products and confined-space equipment, to larger plant of the type purchased from Ingersoll Rand, JCB and Terex. The company also has a number of business streams offering specialist equipment including power generation and welding equipment, powered access equipment and accommodation units.
