Executive Director
The position of Executive Director role provides overall leadership to the Institute with a focus on delivering professional development opportunities and a positive experience for members whilst promoting the benefits and standing of the IAT to all stakeholders within the Asphalt sector and wider highway industry.
Key functions of the role are:
Increase awareness of IAT throughout the asphalt and broader highway industry
Broaden our membership base
Ensure links between IAT Council, its various Committees and Branches
Plan and promote IAT Training Days, professional development events, University of Derby courses and general Institute activities
Communication of IAT activities on a range of platforms
Promote IAT membership benefits to industry stakeholders
Identify sponsorship opportunities for IAT Branch events / national conference / training days
Identify links and good relationships with other Professional institutions, trade bodies and partners
Maintain proper governance of the organisation’s activities
Positive representation of the Institute at internal and external events
Applicants for the role should demonstrate leadership skills and implementing strategy, whilst having a knowledge of the UK and Irish Asphalt materials sector.
Experience in marketing and stakeholder engagement is preferred and a technical background in the highway maintenance industry is also desirable.
